One of the first 25 pre-production cars made in June1949. This Heb was owned by Ron Andrew in the past. He was in providence one day long ago. He noticed this car parked on the side of the road and wrote a note saying something like if you ever want to sell this car give me a call. About one year later he received a call and ended up purchasing it for about $600. He then held on to it until he sold it. It first was in a garage he rented in Wonsocket RI for many years. Then they built a garage and moved it up to Mass. It sat again in the barn for many years until he sold it to a gentleman named Mr. Chapman from Texas. Mr. Chapman then sold it to Don Garries from Texas, and now in hands of a VW collector from Indonesia since 2008. The car is in second restauration as Don Garries did not a good job. Some things were ok but some were a hack job with bad welding in the front ¼ sides. Now the car will be as good as new. (PS)
