In 1995 Mr. Schacht sold his Heb to Allan Wind from Denmark. Later it was sold to BBT Belgium who sold it in 2004 to Malcolm Hawkins in the UK. He used it for a long time and sold it later to a collector also in the UK. (PS)

Allan Wind wrote us:

My story of Heb 601. I bought the car in 1995 in Germany from Herr Rabe in Rendsburg in the north of Germany. Herr Rabe had a collection of Vintage VWs and wanted to thin out in the collection. So my good friend Klaus Jacobsen bought his 1952 split convertible and I bought the Hebmüller #601. The car is in very fine condition. Has never been restored, just maintained, and has had a little welding here and there, but still retains most of the original metal. It has at one time had an accident, that dented the front right side. This was not repaired perfectly, and remains to be corrected. Besides that the car has most of what is not possible to replace. Original front end, with the body number and the factory badges, has ofcourse the original floorpan and most of the interior is untouched and still in good original condition. Seats are cloth. Same as on the sedan. Not just from a sedan, since the reas bench is the same, and clearly never replaced. Motor was a 30hp unit when I bought the car. I replaced it with a 25hp motor, mad from all NOS parts. Even the case was now and has no number stamped. I sold the car to Bob Van Heyst from BBT in 2003. After that it went to UK to Malcolm that later sold it.
