History : delivered on 31/10/1949 to SPRECKELSEN Germany.
Not much history know. In January 1982 it is known that it was more as 5 years not registered. Info on registration document of city of Aachen. At that point it was complete purple outside It was used at one point to make a fiberglass mould from the rear part at Carat company by Stephan l’honneux. At that point, a side window and frame was taken out of the car. The car was offered for sale in a Super VW mag from France in 1994. If it was sold in 1994 is uncertain but 2008 it was bought in Germany by a Belgian collector. The new owner did a quick paint job and while sanding the body, traces from Coral Red paint on the side was found but the documentation from Wolfsburg mention that it was Black and Ivory. It was made drivable and was seen on the 2009 Hessisch Oldendorf meeting with the driver wearing a phantom mask. A complete restoration is planned and we hope to find out more about the coral red or ivory. A few years ago, shortly before the Hebmüller only meeting was held, the current owner found out that a side window for a Hebmüller was on Ebay. The glas had a small area with purple paint on it... After a few calls and with help of some friends, the window returned to the car. (PS)
